I was afraid to go into rehab, but as odd as it sounds, inspirational quotes were what helped me make it through the hardest of days. I confided in my dad that I was terrified of what was going to happen in rehab, so he helped me get into a really good one. I woke up each and every morning while I was there to a new inspirational quote having been texted to me from him. When I struggled, it was those quote that kept me moving forward, and it is still those quotes that help me live my life.
Inspirational Quotes Are More Powerful Than Many People Think
If you have never relied on something else to find inspiration, then you may not understand. However, the strength I found in inspirational quotes got me through the hardest battles I have ever faced in my entire life. The first morning, this is the quote that was on my phone when I woke up:
“Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny.” -C.S. Lewis.
That quote brought tears to my eyes, because for as long as I’d been struggling with an addiction, I’d never considered myself extraordinary in any way. The inspirational quotes that my dad sent changed topics each day, almost like he knew what I needed to hear at the time. Here are a few of the ones that meant the most to me while I was going through my stint in rehab, that may have a positive effect on you, too.
“If you can’t figure out your purpose, figure out your passion. For your passion will lead you right into your purpose.” -Bishop T.D. Jakes
“Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Take the moment and make it perfect.” -Zoey Sayward
“Intelligence without ambition is a bird without wings.” -Unknown
“Take Risks. If you win, you will be happy. If you lose, you will be wise.” -Unknown
“Dream big and dare to fail.” -Norman Vaughan
“Know yourself, you are unique, priceless, and a gift to this world.” -Apoorve Dubey
Each day, those inspirational quotes helped me in one way or another. I still look through them. I have thanked my dad for reminding me why I should get up each day while I was there, and he just hugs me. If you are looking for a little bit of a reason to believe in yourself and rehab, give some quotes a try. What’s the harm?
